Goal Setting in The Workplace
Goal setting is one of the primary ways through which a person may be able to attain their desired outcomes and measure their performance. It is thus an essential way for most people to outline their desires and take the necessary actions to achieve them. While the setting of goals may seem like an easy task, most individuals abandon their goals due to the poor goal setting mechanisms and expectations that they had.

Strategies for effective communication at work
One of the critical ways to improve communication in the workplace is through establishing the appropriate communication channels for each mode of communication. Oral communication, for example, is quite different from written communication and in most cases written communication is best suited for official communication (Crosling & Ward, 2002).
The ability to eliminate assumptions will also improve communication in the workplace. Seeking clarifications for anything not understood will reduce the chances of misunderstandings which will often reduce productivity in the workplace. Furthermore, it is imperative to use constructive criticism when dealing with problems at the workplace (Miller, 2007). Most people will often avoid talking to others or will rather address problems in a way that magnifies the issues. It is prudent to criticize fellow employees in a positive manner that would help achieve better results. Other effective ways of communicating include understanding body language and using supportive materials such as visual aids (Miller, 2007).
